Composite Structural Engineer

Gurit USA has vacancies for talented composites structural engineers to join the Engineered Structures Division at their Bristol, RI office.  The ideal candidate would be a mid-senior level engineer though excellent junior engineers will also be considered.

A master’s degree in marine/structural engineering is preferred.  An excellent knowledge of the fundamentals of composite structures is essential.

Experience

• 5+ years structural engineering
• 3+ years composite experience
• Knowledge of marine engineering would be an advantage but automotive/aerospace composites experience is considered relevant
• Knowledge of various marine scantling rules is an advantage

                   
Skills

• Hand calculations for concept engineering and checking essential
• Perform detailed calculations with MS Excel and in-house tools
• FEA using Altair Hyperworks/ MSC Nastran would be advantageous
