Wind Blade Mould Heating

The mould heating system Red Maple uses on its moulds is produced in Canada by 'Powerhinge Automation Inc.' and imported into China. Red Maple offers two varying heating systems:

ELECTRIC HEATING SYSTEM
The wind blade mould is normally divided into 30-50 zones depending upon the blade structure design. Each zone included two temperature sensors, an overheating safety switch and one heating wire.

Red Maple offers the Powerheater system with a totally integrated heating power control on a single circuit board.

The Powerheater System provides primary solid state relay and backup mechanical relay for safety, with full control and supervision over an ethernet network using an in-house developed software package. An integrated touch screen computer system helps to simplify the heating control system.

Each mould is inspected and adjusted using high resolution thermal cameras.

LIQUID HEATING SYSTEM
Red Maple’s patented liquid heating systems allow fo further accuracy in the production cycle, allowing for higher temperatures with a more uniform distribution this design insures an even cure on all parts.

Advantages include easy maintenance when compared to electric heating, quick replacement equipment change-out, surface cooling, and ability to use prepreg materials.

An integrated touch screen computer system helps to simplify the heating control system.
