Gurit Canada Wins First Prize For Their Savings In The Energy Recovery Field

The award was given to Gurit Canada and Teknika-HBA who worked with Gurit to cut the cost of overall power consumption by 35%, making a yearly saving of 22% for electricity and 55% for natural gas.

These figures were achieved by a number of methods including the synchronization of air change equipment within the Corecell plant to reduce natural gas consumption. Frequency drives were also installed on tank pumps to reduce the electricity consumption needed for pumps and heat recovery systems were linked to polymerization tanks so that recovered heat could be transferred to the plants heating units.
