Gurit signs important materials supply contract with a Chinese Wind Energy customer

Prepreg and foam materials deliveries for Chinese BTW Group
• Materials packages for turbine blades over the next 18 months

Gurit (SIX Swiss Exchange: GUR), a leading supplier of high performance composite materials, has signed a supply agreement with BTW Boading Tianwei Group to supply important volumes of prepreg and kitted foam materials for wind turbine blades in China.

Wattwil, November 19, 2008. Gurit, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced composite materials, has signed an important contract with BTW Boading Tianwei Group to supply prepreg and kitted foam core materials for the production of wind blades. The contract amounts to a mid-range single-digit CHF million sales figure and covers the next 18 months. The products will be produced at Gurit’s state of the art production site in Tianjin, China.

BTW Boading Tianwei Group is located in the Hebei Province and has become a leading Chinese producer of wind turbines with great potential. Its product range comprises 1.2MW, 1.5MW, 2.5MW Wind power generating units. Wind power generating has become an important project of Hebei Province.
