Gurit to Exhibit at the Composites Engineering Show 2011
4 November 2011, Isle of Wight, UK – Gurit, a leading global supplier of composite materials and technical solutions to the wind energy, transportation, tooling, marine markets and other selected application areas is to exhibit at the forthcoming Composites Engineering Show 2011, from Wednesday 9th November to Thursday 10th November 2011. The exhibition to be held at the NEC Birmingham, is the UK’s biggest and only annual exhibition of suppliers and partners to the rapidly growing composite design and manufacture industries.
Exhibiting on stand 1132, Gurit will be showcasing its capabilities in engineering, materials science, prototyping and manufacturing under its recently launched Business Unit, Engineered Structures.

Engineered Structures draws on a broad range of expertise to deliver
engineering designs that are optimised towards customer needs. Gurit
focuses on exceeding customer expectations, whether the brief is a
component proving a unique design concept, a need for the highest
specific properties, or designed for manufacture, with cost being the
driving force.
Gurit will also be presenting two papers at the exhibition. Mr Mal
Wadia, Composite Design Engineer at Gurit UK will be presenting a paper
titled, ’Composite Blades for Tidal Turbines Versus Wind Turbines at
Multi-Megawatt Scale’, on Wednesday 9th November, in the open forum 2,
session 1, slot, 10.00 – 11.00. Dr Mark Hobbs, Senior Engineer at Gurit
UK will be presenting a paper titled, ‘Engineering of a composite shell
structure for the top of the world's second tallest building’, on
Wednesday 9th November, in open forum 2, session 2, 12.40 -13.00.
Staff from the Sales, Technical and Marketing teams will be available at the show to discuss Gurit’s capabilities.
