Gurit to exhibit its innovative technology in Carbon Composite Body Panels at the Motorsport Expotech 2010

11th October 2010, Isle of Wight, UK: Gurit a global leader in the development and manufacture of advanced composite materials will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Motorsport ExpoTech, Modena Fiere, Italy, on the 13th-14th October 2010, on stand G10.

Gurit’s Automotive composite parts production facility based in Newport (Isle of Wight, UK) has been supplying leading Automotive OEM’s with carbon fibre based Class A composite car body panels since 2007. The development of innovative technology is the defining strength of Gurit and is enabled by the unique understanding of composite materials, structural design and materials processing.

This knowledge base provides the capability to formulate, design, prototype and manufacture fully assembled, primed exterior body panels. The elusive objective of all composite panel manufacturers has been the attainment of an A-Class surface. Gurit’s award winning SPRINT® CBS materials technology has provided the breakthrough enabling the production of A-Class carbon body panels directly from the tool. The materials and process have also been developed to ensure retention of this exceptional surface quality throughout the lifecycle of the vehicle.

Gurit’s new Business Development Representative for Automotive in Italy, Mr Marco Pistillo, will be at the show. Marco Pistillo, 41 years old, from Teramo (Abruzzo Region) Italy, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of L’Aquila. Mr Pistillo has past experience within the automotive market with Aprilia and Ferrari amongst others and recently left the position of sales and marketing manager at one of Italy’s leading composite manufacturing companies. Through the collaboration with Mr Pistillio, Gurit is able to offer its unrivalled technology with optimal local support and service to the Italian Automotive car manufacturers, which are among the most prestigious in the world.
