New Core Kitting Facility in Tianjin Launched

Gurit’s comprehensive product portfolio of prepregs, epoxy infusion, adhesives and struc-tural cores has been recently expanded with the launch of an in-house Core Kitting facil-ity. Core materials can now be supplied in customised construction kits, reducing build times, labour costs and improving infusion efficiency and waste.

Corecell™

The Tianjin plant has also increased its production of epoxy prepregs and Corecell™ low density structural foam. Corecell™ is used extensively for sandwich construction in tur-bine blades and is fully compatible with polyester, vinylester, and epoxy resin infusion systems Corecell™ is also fully compatible with epoxy prepreg systems.

Gurit PB1000 – Re-Inventing Aircraft Interior Prepregs

Gurit is proud to present its next generation of aircraft interior prepregs based on PB1000. PB1000 is a modified benzoxazine resin without free formaldehyde and free phenol and satisfies the most recent environmental standards like AIRBUS AP2091. It features a non-volatile, rapid cure technology, generating a perfect void and porous free surface, eliminating time and cost consuming rework.

Gurit’s novel PB1000 fully complies with demanding international JAR/FAR fire protection regulations regarding flammability, smoke, toxicity (FST) and heat release. Due to its excellent mechanical performance, PB1000 is also perfectly suited to fulfil present and forthcoming stress criteria for interior design. Meeting increasing demands on cost effi-ciency in aircraft interior manufacturing, PB1000 is also designed for commonly used fast hot-in / hot-out curing processes.

This unique material performance combined with a competitive cost price level makes PB1000 an advantageous choice for aircraft interior applications and is a clear choice for replacement of phenolic systems.

Flooring Prepregs

Gurit has successfully introduced its advanced range of unidirectional carbon fiber EP137-CR527 prepregs for the AIRBUS A380 passenger floor. Perfectly suitable for light-weight composite panels, they meet the highest requirements of structural interior appli-cations. These prepregs are especially designed for automated lay-up processing and due to its unique technical and economic performance, this class of Gurit prepregs will be a perfect choice for future aircraft such as the AIRBUS A350.
