The S33 Racing Yacht

SP-High Modulus has been supplying materials to a brand new class of racing yacht known as the S33. This new boat was designed by renowned Argentinean Naval Architects Soto Acebal and built in Argentina by the Marine Martinoli boatyard. The One-Design is described as “a modern racing boat, offering a level of performance usually reserved for the elite of the sailing world”.
The design and rules of the new class make the S33 One Design, among the most attractive and economical boats of its kind. Its construction incorporates advanced composite materials including SP-High Modulus’
Corecell™ core materials. The use of these materials means that the boat is light enough to be transported on a trailer and can be sailed by a smaller crew than other comparable yachts.
The first S33 was launched in autumn 2011 to undergo sea trials. So far six S33’s have been sold with the first race scheduled for early 2012 at Punta Del Este, Uruguay.
