STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING/DESIGN – Conceptual design and costs analysis, detailed design, finite element stress analysis, 2D and 3D modelling and draughting, liaison with classification societies, project management. Gurit provides all of these services fortidal turbine blades, other tidal energy devices and wave energy converters, in-house.

COMPOSITE PROCESSING – Processing guidelines for all materials, processing optimisation, quality validation, root cause analysis on component defects, manufacturing risk analysis. To meet such challenges a team of committed technical service engineers provides industry-leading onsite technical support, delivering advice on production procedures and the optimal use of composite technology. This capability enables us to easily transfer our composites knowledge to new fields of application, and increasingly results in Gurit being selected as a key partner for clients’ critical development projects.

PROTOTYPING – Total solution from design through prototype manufacture to optimised production, rapid prototyping and proof of concept, specialised process development. This approach has been well received by the end user with successful projects completed in tidal turbine blades and other composite structures, plus automotive, marine, wind energy, and civil markets.  The prototyping facility has the objective to provide services to all structural composite customers and can - as a consequence - prototype virtually any structure imaginable.

MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY – Gurit combines a deep fundamental understanding of composite technology with extensive cross-discipline experience provided through a dedicated global group of specialists. Gurit’s research and development team continues to develop new technology to deliver higher performance and more cost effective composite solutions, with optimised solutions for tidal turbine and wave energy devices.  State-of-the-art analytical and mechanical test equipment provides the fundamental information required for the design of new materials.

MANUFACTURING – Gurit is committed to supporting tidal and wave energy customers with full-scale series production to provide these complex structures as the market matures. With expertise transferred to ocean energy, our customers can accelerate progress along the manufacturing learning curve.
