SPRINT® Surfacing Materials

SP-High Modulus has a range of surfacing materials specific to a number of applications, for use with the SP-High Modulus prepreg and SPRINT® range.  They are easy to lay up and provide a pinhole free finish with minimal finishing and fairing required.

The surfacing films are available at different weights, and are divided into SF 70, SF 80 and SF 95 films.  There is also a fire retardant option available in the SF 80 range.

  • SF 70 SPRINT® Toughened Surfacing Film (v2)
SF 70 surfacing material is a light green toughened, epoxy film designed to enhance the surface finish of moulded composite components. It allows a good surface finish to be obtained by vacuum-bag moulding processes.
  • SF 80 - SPRINT® Toughened Surfacing Film (v2)
SF 80 surfacing material is a light green toughened, epoxy film designed to enhance the surface finish of moulded composite components. It allows a good surface finish to be obtained by vacuum-bag moulding processes.
  • SF 80FB - Fire-Barrier Surfacing Film (v2)SP-HM
SF 80FB surfacing material is a black, filled epoxy film containing a 320g intumescent layer. Typical applications include the protection of structural components in high risk areas such as engine bays, exhaust runs, and around the fuel system.
  • SF 80FROBL - Fire-Retardant Surfacing Film (v2) SP
SF 80FROBL surfacing material is a black, filled epoxy film. It provides an effective fire retarding layer capable of withstanding exposure to fire, while preventing the epoxy substrate from combustion.
  • SF 95PF - Sandable Surfacing Film (v2) SP-HM
The SF 95PF surfacing material is a grey filled epoxy film designed to enhance the surface finish of moulded composite components. It allows a good surface finish to be obtained by vacuum-bag moulding processes.
