Le bus, alors plus \u00e9conome en carburant, s&rsquo;inspirerait du style de la star embl\u00e9matique des transports londoniens, le Routemaster construit dans les ann\u00e9es 1960. Le constructeur Wrightbus, bas\u00e9 en Irlande du Nord, a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour construire le nouveau bus, avec l&rsquo;aide des studios londoniens Heatherwick pour le design. La nature libre du style et les exigences techniques de l&rsquo;autobus, y compris le groupe motopropulseur hybride et les exigences en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, ont fait que les composites l\u00e9gers \u00e9taient id\u00e9aux pour les panneaux de la partie arri\u00e8re de la carrosserie, qui sont structurellement charg\u00e9s.   <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>Ing\u00e9nierie des structures composites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Gurit a travaill\u00e9 au sein d&rsquo;une \u00e9quipe de d\u00e9veloppement conjointe avec les ing\u00e9nieurs structurels de Wrightbus pour mettre au point la conception globale du stratifi\u00e9 et les d\u00e9tails de connexion au ch\u00e2ssis en acier <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><\/span>et aux panneaux lat\u00e9raux et de toit en aluminium de la carrosserie. Gurit a fourni des conseils sur les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des mat\u00e9riaux et les contraintes admissibles afin que les ing\u00e9nieurs de Wrightbus puissent incorporer la structure composite dans leur mod\u00e8le d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments finis existant pour l&rsquo;autobus. La r\u00e9sistance ultime et la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la fatigue ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9es. Les ing\u00e9nieurs de Gurit ont utilis\u00e9 les forces exerc\u00e9es par les boulons au niveau des connexions entre les pi\u00e8ces et le reste du bus pour d\u00e9velopper les renforcements locaux au niveau des boulons, en s&rsquo;appuyant sur leur exp\u00e9rience en mati\u00e8re de conception de structures composites pour la marine, le g\u00e9nie civil et l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9olienne. Les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des mat\u00e9riaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9es pour la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la traction, \u00e0 la compression et au cisaillement, ainsi que pour des v\u00e9rifications sp\u00e9cifiques du comportement des joints boulonn\u00e9s \u00e0 travers le stratifi\u00e9.    <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><strong>Mat\u00e9riaux composites avanc\u00e9s<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">L&rsquo;arri\u00e8re de l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur du bus (derri\u00e8re les roues arri\u00e8re) et la plateforme hop-on, hop-off sont construits avec le SPRINT\u2122 ST70FR de Gurit et le <span class=\"s2\">Gurit\u00ae <\/span>Corecell\u2122 M. Les cinq pi\u00e8ces structurelles en composite supportent le poids du moteur, des passagers sur la plateforme, de l&rsquo;escalier et du pont sup\u00e9rieur. Cela a permis d&rsquo;\u00e9conomiser plusieurs centaines de kilogrammes sur le poids structurel du bus, par rapport aux mat\u00e9riaux traditionnels. Cela permet \u00e0 l&rsquo;autobus de transporter suffisamment de passagers sans d\u00e9passer la limite l\u00e9gale de poids par essieu, bien qu&rsquo;il soit plus long qu&rsquo;un autobus \u00e0 imp\u00e9riale conventionnel avec ses deux escaliers et ses trois portes, et qu&rsquo;il supporte le poids suppl\u00e9mentaire des batteries pour la propulsion hybride diesel-\u00e9lectrique. Gurit a fabriqu\u00e9 les pi\u00e8ces du prototype pour les soumettre \u00e0 des essais de durabilit\u00e9 et de fatigue sur la piste d&rsquo;essai de Millbrook et est maintenant pass\u00e9e \u00e0 la production en s\u00e9rie.   <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Le produit ignifuge SPRINT\u2122 ST70FR est utilis\u00e9 pour la stratification des pi\u00e8ces, les grandes zones plates \u00e9tant rigidifi\u00e9es avec un poids suppl\u00e9mentaire minimal gr\u00e2ce au <span class=\"s2\">Gurit\u00ae <\/span>Corecell\u2122 M.
