En effet, ces bateaux de 86 pieds \u00e9taient les plus grands yachts \u00e0 ce jour \u00e0 b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de la technologie brevet\u00e9e Canting Ballast Twin Foil (CBTF) de DynaYacht. La d\u00e9cision des propri\u00e9taires, Roy Disney et Hasso Platner respectivement, d&rsquo;adopter cette technologie pour leurs nouveaux bateaux repr\u00e9sente une avanc\u00e9e passionnante pour la conception des bateaux de course.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieurs de Gurit a \u00e9t\u00e9 charg\u00e9e par Reichel\/Pugh de produire les sp\u00e9cifications structurelles composites de Morning Glory et de Pyewacket. Les conceptions innovantes de ce type d\u00e9passent largement le champ d&rsquo;application des r\u00e8gles standard de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de classification. Gurit a donc travaill\u00e9 en \u00e9troite collaboration avec les concepteurs de Reichel\/Pugh pour convenir d&rsquo;un ensemble r\u00e9aliste de cas de charge, \u00e0 partir desquels la structure a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Avant le d\u00e9but de la construction, une phase de recherche et de d\u00e9veloppement technique approfondie a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en \u0153uvre. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude comprenait une \u00e9valuation de l&rsquo;arrangement structurel de l&rsquo;\u00e9trave le plus appropri\u00e9, une r\u00e9gion de claquement de peau unique, et l&rsquo;ad\u00e9quation d&rsquo;une gamme de mat\u00e9riaux d&rsquo;\u00e2me. La partie du bateau la plus difficile \u00e0 concevoir a sans aucun doute \u00e9t\u00e9 la structure de la quille basculante. La quille elle-m\u00eame est contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par deux v\u00e9rins hydrauliques, chacun capable de supporter des charges avoisinant les 350 tonnes. Dans le cadre de l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie structurelle, une analyse d\u00e9taill\u00e9e par \u00e9l\u00e9ments finis (FEA) de la structure de la quille basculante a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de la suite de programmes MSC PATRAN\/NASTRAN. En plus des cas de charge ultime de la quille, les caract\u00e9ristiques globales de rigidit\u00e9 de navigation au pr\u00e8s du bateau ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9es. Cette analyse a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e pour s&rsquo;assurer que la structure avait \u00e9t\u00e9 optimis\u00e9e contre le flambage du pont avant sous l&rsquo;effet de la charge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Lorsque Morning Glory et Pyewacket courent au large, il faut pr\u00e9voir un \u00e9quipage de 18 \u00e0 20 personnes. Des liens \u00e9troits entre Gurit et Reichel\/Pugh ont permis de d\u00e9velopper l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur autour de la structure, minimisant ainsi le besoin de compromis en mati\u00e8re de conception. Les tuyaux d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement et les conduits des syst\u00e8mes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 structur\u00e9s le cas \u00e9ch\u00e9ant, afin de r\u00e9duire la quantit\u00e9 de structure suppl\u00e9mentaire n\u00e9cessaire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Au cours des premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes du projet, le d\u00e9partement des essais m\u00e9caniques et des services analytiques de Gurit a test\u00e9 un certain nombre d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillons de stratifi\u00e9s provenant des constructeurs de bateaux McConaghy et Cookson. Les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques et thermiques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9es, et l&rsquo;analyse statistique des donn\u00e9es d&rsquo;essai a permis d&rsquo;\u00e9tablir un ensemble personnalis\u00e9 de tol\u00e9rances de conception pour chaque bateau. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieurs de Gurit a ensuite utilis\u00e9 ces donn\u00e9es de conception dans ses calculs. La r\u00e9sistance au cisaillement des lamelles, la teneur en vides et la densit\u00e9 ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 calcul\u00e9es pour donner une indication de la qualit\u00e9 &#8211; essentielle pour des bateaux de course aussi performants que le Morning Glory et le Pyewacket.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Pour faciliter et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la construction, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie structurelle de Gurit a maintenu la communication avec les chantiers navals McConaghy et Cookson tout au long de la construction. Dans la mesure du possible, la structure interne a \u00e9t\u00e9 constitu\u00e9e de panneaux plats et stratifi\u00e9s sur des tables aspirantes \u00e0 l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur du bateau. Une fois la coque et le pont d\u00e9moul\u00e9s, la majorit\u00e9 des \u00e9l\u00e9ments internes \u00e9taient pr\u00eats \u00e0 \u00eatre coll\u00e9s. Outre la coque, le pont et la structure interne principale, Gurit a con\u00e7u toute une s\u00e9rie d&rsquo;accessoires en composite, y compris les syst\u00e8mes complexes de manutention des voiles. Les gr\u00e9ements de ces bateaux sont consid\u00e9rablement plus grands que ceux des voiliers de la Coupe de l&rsquo;America, ce qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re des charges extr\u00eamement \u00e9lev\u00e9es. L&rsquo;attention port\u00e9e aux d\u00e9tails s&rsquo;est \u00e9tendue jusqu&rsquo;aux padeyes de la ligne de flottaison, pour lesquels de nouveaux padeyes souples ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis au point. Gurit a fourni de la fibre de carbone de qualit\u00e9 Coupe de l&rsquo;America, du Nomex\u2122 et de la mousse structurelle Corecell\u2122 sur l&rsquo;ensemble des deux navires afin de fournir les structures les plus rigides et les plus l\u00e9g\u00e8res possibles. La mousse Corecell\u2122 a \u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifi\u00e9e dans la zone de claquement de l&rsquo;\u00e9trave en raison de son excellente r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la rupture et \u00e0 la fatigue. McConaghy&rsquo;s a utilis\u00e9 le syst\u00e8me de r\u00e9sine pr\u00e9-impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e SE 84 de Gurit pour construire Morning Glory et SPRINT\u2122 a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement utilis\u00e9 l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le stratifi\u00e9 massif avait \u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9cifi\u00e9, r\u00e9duisant avec succ\u00e8s le besoin de d\u00e9bullage et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rant ainsi consid\u00e9rablement le processus de construction.
