RAFALE ETS Achieves Top Honors at Foiling SuMoth Challenge with Support from Gurit

We’re proud to announce another successful collaboration with the talented student engineers at RAFALE ETS, who recently competed in the prestigious Foiling SuMoth Challenge on Lake Garda, Italy.

15 international teams including more than 500 students took place in the challenge, and the RAFALE team with their relatively modest crew count managed to achieve an outstanding 2nd place in the regattas and 3rd place overall.

As part of our continued commitment to supporting engineering excellence and sustainable innovation, Gurit provided our PET foam core along with machining services for the crossbeams and stringers of RAFALE’s foiling catamaran. These components played a key role in the structural performance and weight optimization of the vessel.

He continued, “This success is the result of significant work on our prototype where we redesigned the gantry, wings, and foils, as well as making several modifications to the rigging which all helped to greatly improve our performance on the water.
