Baltic 107 Inukshuk is a lightweight, high-performance sloop. Her prime purpose is fast, efficient and comfortable cruising. The superyacht was designed and styled by naval architects Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering. Adam Lay Studio created her signature interior design. Gurit contributed to this successful and award-winning build with structural engineering and as a supplier of advanced composite materials including Prime 20, Ampreg resin and adhesives. With a total displacement of just over 78 tonnes of which over 31 tonnes is ballast, the Baltic 107 Inukshuk has an impressive power to weight ratio. The telescopic keel enables draft to vary from 3.35m to 4.85m without interfering with the interior layout. Baltic 107 Inukshuk was crowned overall Sailing Yacht of the Year and presented as category winner in the 30m to 39.99m size range on May 3, 2014, at the ninth annual World Superyacht Awards gala in Amsterdam.
Baltic 108 WinWin is a high-tech racer-cruiser designed by Javier Jaudenes. This superyacht has a displacement of only 82 tonnes. One of the yacht’s defining features is the automated glass bulkhead between the deck saloon and cockpit. This bulkhead drops down entirely, ensuring an uninterrupted transition between interior and exterior. Achieving such features and an overall low displacement required a lot of thorough structural engineering which was provided by Gurit. In addition, Gurit also contributed a materials package including SE 84LV high-strength epoxy prepreg materials with Gurit® Corecell™ M-Foam and Ampreg 22 for secondary bonding. The boat was launched for first on-the-water trials on May 5, 2014 at the waterfront facilities of Baltic Yachts in Jakobstad/Finland.
Graham Harvey, General Manager Gurit Engineered Structures and Paul Riley, Sales Manager Superyachts Europe, congratulate Baltic Yachts on the success of these two projects. Everyone involved at Gurit takes pride in demonstrating Gurit’s expertise as engineering partner and materials supplier for the best boats in the world.
